Our Distillery Garden

At the Secret Garden Distillery, we grow over 600 different varieties of herbs and plants that we are hugely passionate about. They are all grown and nurtured by us. Happy, healthy, and ready to find a new home. All of our talented gardeners are highly knowledgeable when it comes to the herbs we grow and their needs so if you find yourself overwhelmed by our selection, please ask one of our friendly team, they are always happy to help.

From a derelict plot outside Edinburgh in 2012 a green oasis has been created that allows us to enjoy the subtle magic that nature has to offer and provides us with the inspiration to create magical gins from "seed to sip".

The Garden is 100% natural: no fertilisers or chemicals. Our planting is lovingly cared for by the team of gardeners and plants selected for the flavour profiles or colour they bring to our gin. For example, we have a large garden of Apothecary Rose, a rose that has been used since antiquity, which helps to flavour and colour its namesake gin.

The Distillery’s Secret Garden is home to over 600 varieties of plants. View all our plants.

In order to share our passion for nature we have developed a range of gins to showcase the flavours and colours that can be created from nature. Our two copper stills – Violet and May produce our liquid and we then dilute to 39% ABV as we feel this is best for the botanical flavours to harmonise with the gin.

The Secret Garden gins are lovingly crafted to reflect our passion. The Secret Garden Distillery produces the finest quality gins, using 100% natural products.   The Garden itself is home to a wide range of hand harvested botanicals which have been used in some products and inspired the flavours of others.

The gin is distilled, hand bottled and labelled on site. Our  range includes traditional London Dry styles to more contemporary compounded gins.
