Looking for something special to celebrate Valentines Day?

Our resident mixologist has developed a couple of cocktails for the special day devoted to all things love- Valentine's Day. The following drink recipes are single serving, but feel free to double up if you're making drinks for two. Get creative with these cocktail recipes for Valentine’s Day using a couple of the Secret Garden Distillery's pink gins.

First, we have a twist on a classic Negroni. A Negroni is a sweet and slightly bitter-tasting drink that’s reminiscent of an aperitif but packs a huge punch. It’s perfect as a cocktail pre- or during dinner, as the bitter notes highlight the flavours of food very well. In our version we are using our Limited Edition With Love gin. You can find the recipe here:

Prepare a rocks glass with a large ice cube and peel a 1” x 4” strip of orange peel and trim as needed.

Next, build the drink over ice with:

25ml Secret Garden With Love Rose Gin
25ml Sweet Vermouth
25ml Campari

Stir for 30 seconds, garnish, and enjoy immediately.

Our second offering is our variation on the French 75.

The French 75 is named for the fast-firing 75-millimetre field gun that was utilized by the French during World War One. Consisting of gin, fresh lemon juice, sugar and Champagne, the drink is a lot friendlier than the name implies. Our Valentines pink gin cocktail version using our Elderflower & Jasmine gin: one of the floral gins inspired by our Garden.

How to make a French 75:

Prepare a flute glass and peel a 1” x 4” strip of lemon peel and trim as needed.

Pour your ingredients (excl. Champagne) into a shaker:

       12.5ml lemon juice
5ml sugar syrup
50ml Secret Garden Elderflower & Jasmine gin

Shake until chilled then double strain into a flute glass and top with champagne.

Garnish, and enjoy immediately
